C.L.E.A.R. (Chinese Language Educational And Research) Club is relatively new club which is formed on 5th September 2002. The club was formed with the vision to provide an avenue for Chinese trainee teachers to share their experiences, instructional skills and views on Chinese language teaching, with an aim to raise the professional quality of future Chinese language teachers.
It also aims to facilitate the harmonious interaction among student bodies from other ethnic groups so as to promote racial harmony and forge a stronger common Singaporean identity among other mother tongue teachers from different ethnic backgrounds. It hopes to promote a greater appreciation of the Chinese language and culture in NIE as well.
Past activities organized by C.L.E.A.R. include the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, Pre-Practicum Sharing sessions and Chinese New Year Celebration. There are various events lined up for this year that will serve to meet the very objectives upon which the club was formed.
The Club organizes a range of cultural and educational activities and competitions at the intra-institute and inter-institute level for its members. It may also organize social and sports activities to promote further interaction and strengthen the bond among its members.
